Wearable Art Inspired by the History of Technology: Compass Rose Design Jewelry

What’s old is new again! Compass Rose Design Jewelry will be on hand for the first San Jose Mini Maker Faire to show off some of their Victorian and Industrial Revolution era inspired designs. Founder and Designer, Creek Van Houten, is a third generation Maker of jewelry who uses recycled objects, authentic antiques, and rediscovered historical treasures in her work!

Compass Rose’s designs are not only beautiful, but also explore the history and back stories of the object they reuse. From railroad history, to the history of clock mechanics, to Victorian mourning jewelry, these amazing objects offer a great way to learn about our history, and look good doing it!

Come out and see their incredible designs and have kids try their hands-on vintage jewelry making activity Sunday, September 6 from 10:00am-6:00pm at the at the San Jose Mini Maker Faire Sunday at History Park.
